Location:
This position will be based in Accra, Ghana.

Position Overview:
The Finance Associate will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy
in bookkeeping, compliance with local standards and IFRS, and providing support for annual audits and statutory
filings. The role involves working closely with senior management, vendors, clients, and banks to ensure effective
financial operations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate bookkeeping and close accounting books on a monthly and annual basis, ensuring
    adherence to local standards and IFRS.
  • Prepare draft financial statements for the year-end audit and handle annual audit requirements,
    providing all necessary documentation to external auditors until closure and sign-off.
  • Manage and ensure timely filing of all statutory matters/returns, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, NHIL &
    GETFUND, Covid Levy, and Pension, to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
  • Assist in preparing monthly MIS reports for senior management with detailed performance analysis and
    help prepare project profitability reports to aid in business decision-making.
  • Prepare salary transfers, post them in the accounting system, and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to maximize credit periods and manage working capital
    effectively.
  • Ensure timely raising of monthly invoices to clients and the collection of accounts receivable balances.
    Follow up with clients on Withholding Tax and VAT certificates, as applicable.
  • Assist in the preparation of various reports for management and maintain legal agreements, regulatory
    documents, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Deal with banks for corporate and retail banking requirements.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks as needed.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Experience in handling audits and working with external auditors.
  • Familiarity with Ghanaian statutory requirements and filings is preferred.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field and Professional accounting certification (e.g.,
CA, ACCA, CPA).
• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and IFRS.
• Experience with statutory filings and compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
